Voice Memos for webOS
Posted by Arthur Thornton in New Apps, webOS Apps on December 28, 2010
Development of Appstuh’s latest app for webOS, Voice Memos for webOS, is nearly complete. It is expected to be released into the Palm App Catalog for HP webOS devices everywhere* very soon for a very low price.
The application has been in the hands of PreCentral.net‘s Dieter Bohn for 10 days now, and another PreCentral writer, Adam Marks, is working on his “preview review” of the app.
Here are some highlights of the app:
- Allows the user to record a voice memo, adding a title and description if desired
- Email the voice memos
- Delete voice memos
- View all of the voice memos on the home scene of the app, being able to tap on one to view more info, play it, edit the info, or even email it
- View all of the voice memos on the view memo scene (which can be brought up by tapping on a memo) and sift through them by using the cards metaphor used and pioneered in webOS
- Supports themes, though there are only two at this time (Palm Default and Palm Dark)
The sole purpose of this application is to record voice memos and to enable playback of the voice memos.
* Unfortunately, the Palm App Catalog is limited at this time to only those countries that Palm or Palm Global has presence in, which would be: United States of America, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and Germany. Additionally, this app requires webOS 2.0+, which at this time is only present on the Palm Pre 2, though it is expected to be available to all Palm phones currently running HP webOS in the “coming months” according to HP Palm.
